In the third annual Hope for Homes Day online fundraising campaign, the advocacy of 17 ambassadors and support of 51 donors raised $7,056 for the organization on Thursday, July 16. Hope for Homes Day is a statewide movement that unites Illinois nonprofits who are working together to expand access to housing and support services that help our unhoused neighbors on the path to permanent housing.
Over 30 nonprofit organizations who provide housing and critical support in Illinois raised a collective $117,107 with the support of 684 donors to make an impact on the lives of those they serve. This year, CCH went the extra mile thanks to our partners at ComEd and their Cause of the Year initiative. Over 1,400 ComEd employees voted to make homelessness prevention their focus, and CCH is the lead beneficiary of their fundraising efforts this year.
Madelyn McCarthy signed up to be an ambassador for CCH and had this to say about the experience:
“Being an ambassador for Hope for Homes Day was a no-brainer. As someone who has never experienced homelessness, I feel empowered to promote the mission of CCH to help make that a reality for others in my community. I am proud to have gained support from my family who contributed to my fundraiser because together we all believe that housing is a human right.”
There is still time to support CCH through Hope for Homes Day. The campaign will close on Thursday, August 6, and every donation counts!
