In response to the city’s failure to provide necessary resources,
CCH has convened a group of homeless service providers who share our
concerns about the 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness. The group meets
regularly to develop strategies and take action to address our common
concerns.
Current Activities of Concerned Providers Group
- Re-evaluating the Interim Housing model and advocating for changes to
the goals, as well as changes in how the Chicago Department of Human
Services (CDHS) evaluates programs and conducts audits.
- Working with CDHS to track turn-aways in the shelter system and working to address capacity issues.
- Working with the researchers to develop an evaluation of the 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness.
- Monitoring the implementation of the state Rental Housing Suppport Program in Chicago.
- Addressing concerns about the city's new Homeless Management
Information System (HMIS) that tracks homeless clients in the shelter
system.
