Children Have a Right to a Preschool Education
For Every Child, a Preschool Chance
At both the federal and state level, homeless education laws recognize the importance of preschool for homeless children. The CCH Law Project helps administrators, providers and educators understand these laws. It also assists homeless families with young children with access to quality preschool programs.
In 2006, the state of Illinois inaugurated Preschool for All (view press release), a program that promises universal access to preschool to all children in the state.
As the state implements Preschool for All, the Law Project is working to ensure that the program addresses the educational needs of homeless children and other vulnerable populations.
