Pro bono opportunities
The Law Project of CCH can utilize your skills in any of the following ways:
• Co-representing homeless families and unaccompanied youth in a variety of legal issues including disputes with school districts
• Doing analysis and research that relates to the needs of homeless children and youth
• Volunteering to do outreach in shelters, churches, libraries, etc. throughout the area regarding the educational rights of children and youth
• Editing and helping us to reproduce content (brochures, manuals, tip sheets, announcements) that enable us to educate professionals, providers, school staff and social workers on the issues facing homeless children and youth
• Join us in efforts with the Illinois General Assembly and the United States Congress to protect and strengthen laws and regulations regarding education and other needs for our poorest families
• Make connections for us with other community organizations and bar associations
