Each year, CCH presents college scholarships to promising students who have graduated from the Chicago Public Schools despite experiencing homelessness during high school. I was reminded tenfold last Tuesday, the night of our 7th annual scholarship awards ceremony, why I tell people that it is my favorite CCH event.

Posted June 30th, 2010 by adminThe Law Project is pleased to announce the kick off its summer season with three new legal interns pitching in to help: Traci Irvin from the University of Chicago College of Law, Benjamin Kidder from Chicago-Kent College of Law (an Equal Justice Works Summer Corps member with support from the Kent Justice Foundation and Equal Justice America) and Desmond Kidney from Northwestern University Law School.
CCH, Chase Bank launch 2nd summer of Austin school outreach

Ten volunteers from the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless (CCH) and JPMorgan Chase Bank have launched a second summer of back-to-school outreach in the West Side’s Austin neighborhood.
Through the project “Every Child in School, Every Day,” CCH and Chase offer outreach to Austin families about the educational rights of homeless students – with more than 540 homeless children already enrolled in 26 Austin public schools.
